The plunger is all stainles steel, as I wanted.
A very fine mesh screen and it is very strong.
No more plastic to break.
I gave it a 4 star instead of 5, as it is a challenge to pour a cup of fresh brew without dribbling.
Otherwise, I just love this press pot.

I bought this because I wanted a thermal French Press. The coffee tasted great and stayed hot, and I didn't have problems with the spout leaking, like some reviewers on Amazon had. My biggest issue is that the filter pieces and the plunger don't screw apart (as far as I can tell), like they did in my old Bodum, so cleaning the filter is annoying and this morning I had a lot of grains stuck in there that were difficult to get out. I would prefer a press where the filter comes apart so it can be thoroughly cleaned. I may go back to my old press, depending on how annoying the cleaning continues to be.
