I was hesitant in buying this because I know you aren't supposed to have bumpers but my daughter's leg became very stuck in the crib slats and needed the reassurance she will be safe. I used the website to install it properly (highly recommend). It is very breathable if she rolls into the bumper.

It took us three tries to get this bumper on the crib and have it fit decently - which is quite frustrating. Don't even bother with the instructions in the package (they're a waste of time) - just go to the website and view the intructional video. The bumper sags in some places and it's hard to get a tight fit. The ribbons are also cheap and stiff - you can't get a pretty looking bow. All the tucking that you have to do where the front and back pieces meet make the crib look hideous! Yes, the safety is great, but the design and quality need some updating.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This has been a GREAT purchase! Both my boys scoot like crazy in their sleep. We originally had the bumper that came with the bedding in our oldest's bed, but when he scooted his face all the way up into it we decided it needed to go. THEN we tried using no bumper at all... pacifiers and teethers constantly fell, and then he scooted around and got his arm and leg caught between the slats in the crib... ENTER breathable bumper!
It's soft enough that if he scoots he doesn't bump his head, it keeps paci's and teethers in the bed, it has two different layers of mesh material that allows breathing if a face is pushed up against it. Its great!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

product did not assemble as the instruction described, not sure if sewn incorrectly? not at all happy with product. felt the quality was over rated.. awards from 2008/2009??? its time to update the status of the product. big thumbs down! as for the price its not worth [$]
